Like alot of people in the UK I am unemployed and currently looking for a job, I'm not overly qualified for anything, the only thing I am better at than anything else is computers, I can build them, repair them both hardware and software aspects, but that hasn't got me anywhere I recently looked at getting Microsoft Certified through the home learning college and that would cost me over £2000 which is a huge amount for someone without a job.
I would love a job in the computer games industry but it is ridiculously hard to get into and I just get shunted out of the way by Uni snobs. "Go to uni then you fool" I hear you say but I am not prepared to get in debt that much.
Of course I could get a terrible job at McDonalds or something of the like but I honestly can't bring myself to do it, it just feels so below me and I really dont want to do something that makes me miserable, "well a job is a job" again I hear you say but to me its not, if I have to do something to earn money I want it to be worthwhile and something that I enjoy.
Everyone wants to make something of themselves be known and famous and all that lark but so many just settle with normal lives and normal jobs, don't get me wrong if I got offered a local IT engineer job that was perfect for me I would take it in a flash, but I just think that so many with potential give up to easy, and maybe I'm the same I recently bought an electric bass guitar because I fancied learning how to play it and I know how it works and I can play a few tunes but for the time I've had it I should know so much more maybe even be in a little band that just plays or local gigs or pubs, I've not given up on playing it but I can't afford a tutor to learn how to play it due to lack of said job, I've tried using the internet to learn to how to play it and that has helped to a degree but now I feel like I need real human help.
I just don't understand how I cant get a job, I'm fairly smart with just above average grades yet complete idiots who I went to school with have landed their dream jobs and have gone all over the country, one who even works on an oil rig, I don't see how its fair.
I can't help but think I'm destined for something more.
